Intrinsic Elements Psychotherapy

Somatic Therapy for Courageous Hearts and Wild Souls

Welcome fierce and tender being

Come Home to Yourself

You’re self-aware, motivated, and on a path of growth—but old patterns still surface. You’ve done the work, maybe even been in therapy before, but something deeper is still asking to be met. You long for honest reflection, deeper connection, and a space where you can show up fully—without having to shrink, perform, or explain the complexity of who you are.

Maybe you’re grieving something hard to name—a relationship, a version of yourself, a sense of belonging. Or maybe you're in the thick of a transition: stepping into your authenticity, releasing roles that no longer fit, navigating the messy middle between what was and what’s emerging. It’s tender here. And it can be lonely.

You might feel like the world is moving too fast, like you’re being asked to keep up while something inside you wants to slow down, feel more, and live with intention. You’re craving more than symptom relief. You want to understand your patterns, reconnect with your body, and make meaning of your experiences in a way that honors your truth.

I work with women, femmes, and gender expansive folks who are navigating identity shifts, spiritual awakenings, grief, trauma, and the ache of being a human in the world today. My clients are often high insight, deeply feeling, and drawn to both inner work and soul-aligned living. They’re ready to get real—not to fix themselves, but to come home to who they’ve always been.

Healing is not just about understanding—

it’s about feeling, sensing, and embodying change.

Come as you are. We’ll listen together for what wants to be felt, healed, and held.

I specialize in working with:

  • Grief and ambiguous loss

  • Relational trauma & attachment wounds

  • Identity shifts and spiritual disorientation

  • Life transitions and existential meaning-making

  • Nervous system dysregulation—overwhelm and numbness

  • Complex relationship dynamics and boundary repair

  • Unpacking whiteness, power, and privilege

Healing happens in relationship—within ourselves, with others, and with the world around us. My approach is deeply experiential and intuitive, weaving together parts work (Gestalt-informed), somatic experiencing, nervous system awareness, and self inquiry. This isn’t just about insight—it’s about practicing new ways of relating to yourself, tending to what’s been held for too long, and building capacity for change from the inside out.

Rooted in both scientific and esoteric traditions, this work honors the complexity of your being. It’s about reclaiming lost parts of yourself, cultivating resilience, and expanding into a fuller expression of who you are.

Alexandra Winteraven, MA, LPC

As a queer, non-binary therapist, Alexandra holds space primarily for women, femmes, and gender-expansive folks. They are committed to creating a space that honors fluidity, complexity, and the sovereignty of your wholeness.

Alexandra has been studying and practicing somatic therapy, trauma, and attachment healing for over a decade. They hold a master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado and have been licensed in the state of Oregon since 2017. They offer virtual therapy sessions for Oregon residents only.

Beyond Alexandra’s clinical training, their work is shaped by a deep commitment to bridging psychology and spirituality, body and mind. Their practice is informed by years of study in somatics, neuroscience, depth psychology, and esoteric traditions. They approach healing as both an art and a science—grounded in research, presence, and the lived experience of being human.

Alexandra also writes a blog called Bone and Sky, where they explore grief, embodiment, becoming, and the deeper currents that shape our inner lives. It’s a space where healing meets myth, where body meets spirit, and where personal reflection becomes collective remembering. If you're curious about the soul-level work that informs their practice—and want to read more about the descent and return that so often accompanies transformation—you’re welcome to explore it here.

Sessions, Fees & Insurance

Sessions: 60 minutes (virtual)

  • Standard Rate: $190 per session

  • Sliding Scale: $130 – $190 (available to those not using insurance)

  • Insurance: I am not in network with any insurance providers. However, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. A diagnosis is required for out-of-network claims.

  • I currently accept OHP through CareOregon only, on a single case agreement basis. If you're a CareOregon member, feel free to reach out and we can explore whether this is an option. I'm not in network with any other OHP or commercial plans.

Why Work with an Out-of-Network Provider?

  • More therapist options and specialized care – Choose a therapist based on expertise, approach, and philosophy rather than being limited by insurance networks.

  • Holistic and integrative approaches – Some therapeutic modalities, such as somatic therapy, depth psychology, and transpersonal work, may not be covered by insurance.

  • Deeper therapeutic work – Explore complex issues at your own pace without insurance requiring quick symptom resolution or documentation to prove ‘medical necessity’.

  • Less medicalization – Avoid being labeled with a diagnosis just to access care, which can sometimes impact insurance, employment, or other areas of life.

  • Relational continuity – Stay with the same therapist long-term without disruptions due to insurance changes, provider turnover, or network limitations.

  • Choice in session structure – Flexibility in scheduling, session length, and therapeutic modalities that may not fit within insurance-defined models.

  • Personalized care – Receive individualized support, contrasting the one-size-fits-all approach of many in-network providers.

  • Greater flexibility – More control over your care without insurance dictating session frequency, duration, or treatment approach.

  • Privacy and confidentiality – Insurance companies require a diagnosis and have the right to request treatment records at any time; out-of-network care offers more privacy.

If you have questions about fees, insurance, or what’s possible, please don’t hesitate to reach out using the contact form below or email me directly at awinteraven@gmail.com. I offer a free 30-minute virtual consultation to explore whether we’re a good fit.
